Captain Marvel Theory: Who Is The Supreme Intelligence?

Captain Marvel has been out in cinema for a while now and despite some negative review I myself loved it. It did take a while to pick up but that gave it it's plot and I loved it the whole way through. I watched it opening date which was weeks ago so I am going to share one of my theories on the film. What is the Supreme Intelligence??!!

SPOILER WARNING FOR CAPTAIN MARVEL AND END GAME!! WATCH THEM IF YOU HAVEN'T!!

In the capital of the Kree Empire (Hala) we see many of the Kree going to this temple-like place. Carol Danvers goes there with her master Yon-Rogg he says that no-one has seen the Supreme Intelligence as it takes on the form of what the viewer wants to see. The Supreme Intelligence is shown as a form of wisdom and escapism in the film as Carol turns to the Intelligence in the form of Mar-vel for advice. At this point she does not completely know who Mar-vel is but has seen her in dreams. This suggests that the Kree viewer does not pic what they want to see, it just morphs into what their heart wants, even if they don't know it. So from this we have gathered that the Intelligence is an all knowing thing that has the power to be able to take many forms according to who is wanting the advice. It has been suggested that the Intelligence is just a computer simulation but I believe it is something greater. What is all knowing but needs a 3 dimensional simulation to interact with the Kree? What is doomed to never change the course of events in real life but can only watch it? I am of course talking about The Watcher!

The Watchers are a race of all knowing characters in Marvel comics that can talk to others but not change courses of events through physical interaction no mater how much they want to. This would mean they would need a Kree simulation to virtually interact and give advice/wisdom as they can see how things would result. But why would The Watcher want to help the Kree? Maybe this tech was meant for greater things but the Kree adopted it for themselves. Or maybe it was because The Watcher knew Carol's future and wanted to motivate her powers (as shown in the film) for the greater good. As they can see alternate realities maybe that was the only way in that dimension that something great would happen later in the MCU. So, with The Watcher knowing what Thanos would do in the future and that Captain Marvel would need to be involved to defeat him, perhaps that's why they pushed her into discovering the full potential of her powers without violating the rules. Also we know The Watcher is in the MCU as three of them have a cameo in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2.

What do you think? Agree or disagree I want to hear your thoughts! Do you think that Marvel will include The Watcher in future MCU phase 4 films such as Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3? Or will the Supreme Intelligence remain a mysterious source of Kree wisdom? Anyway, enjoy marvel while it lasts and let's take a moment to remember Tony Stank!

Sorry for the delay, this blog was supposed to be posted before Endgame but I haven't had the time to go through it again. I've got my tickets for the exciting Spider-man: Far From Home (unfortunately I can't make opening date). Keep on reading my blogs and see you again with my next!

Could a light-saber cut Wolverines Adamantium claws?

Star Wars and Marvel crossovers have been debated and dreamed of for decades; from a Han vs Deadpool shootout to a Gungian against Skrull war - all fan boys and girls have thought up every combination. One that really caught my eye was the question 'Could a lightsaber cut through Wolverine's adamantium claws?' In this blog I will give my one of many answers to this question, with science, Marvel and Star Wars logic!

As you may know, adamantium is debatable as the strongest metal in the marvel universe, in front of vibranium and enchanted uru. It makes Logan's exoskeleton and Ultron's armour. It can easily cut through bones and other metals (even vibranium), however, every metal, even if fictional, has a melting point. Adamantium is created by a mixture of certain chemical resins, if the chemicals are mixed and kept at  1,500 degrees, the liquid formed is moulded into Wolverines exoskeleton. This indicates that the melting point of adamantium is 1,500 degrees. So in theory, a super-villain could heat Wolverine to this temperature, and although Logan can self-heal tissue, he cannot repair his broken mecca-bones, therefore destroying it. The question is, however, could this be done with a lightsaber.

A lightsaber is the elegant weapon of the Jedi and the Sith, structured from a kyber crystal contained and harnessed in a handle (of the force-users choice) to be used as a weapon. It comes in different colours depending on the force-users amount of hate, peace or balance that they transfer into the crystal when applying it to the saber. It has the reputation of being able to cut through almost anything. A scene with Qui Gon Jin cutting through a steel door, means it has its heat calculated. To burn through steel the temperature needs to be 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit therefore the lightsaber must function at at least this for that to have been possible. Therefore its heat it hot enough to melt adamantium but, is it enough to slice it in one clash or would it have to be held on the blade for longer? This can only be experimented by determining the approximate temperature of the plasma. If only one day it would be possible to conduct this experiment in this universe!

Thank you for reading, I hope you found it interesting! I think this is an interesting Star Wars and Marvel crossover  - hope you do too. Comment if you have anything to add to this blog or a future topic to write about! But for now, enjoy marvel whilst it lasts!!

In loving memory of Stan (the man) Lee. Even real-life superheroes die. 😢😢

Is Thanos in the Soul Stone?

I'm sure you know the new Avengers Endgame trailer (love the title) came out on Friday and, *deep breath in*, OH MY GOD WHAT IS HAPPENING!!!! You see the emotional scene with Tony on the Benatar alone with Nebula, Steve crying as him and Natasha talk about the impact of what Thanos did, the amazing scene where you see Hawkeye and of course the big reveal that Scott (Ant-man and the Wasp spoiler warning) escaped the Quantum Realm. However, the thing that caught my eye (that I didn't notice when I saw the end of Infinity War) was although Thanos is believed to be on Titan 2 (his perfect visualisation of Titan) I believe he may have winded up in the Soul Stone and here's why!

I don't think this blog needs a spoiler warning because come on, it's Infinity War!!

After Thanos sets the ending climax of the film by snapping his fingers and destroying 50% of all living creatures across the universe, he returned to the farm of Titan 2, purely just to look over what he's achieved and how much he's sacrificed, so we think! You may have thought, what is the most powerful man in the universe doing in the Soul Stone? Well, we know it is achievable because in the comics it is where Thanos goes after Adam Warlock snatches the gauntlet and also where Adam then goes. But why would he go there? There are many possible reasons but the most plausible one is to find Gamora. People have theorised that the missing half of the universe is in the Soul Stone. With so many ideas I haven't settled on where they are but I hope we see the half of the universe in an ultimate dimension, such as the upside down in Stranger Things. However I believe, when Thanos sacrificed Gamora, her soul was contained in the stone, hence Thanos would be searching for her. Although this sounds like just a thought, I think it's possible that when when Thanos snapped his fingers and saw a vision of young Gamora under an arch, he realised it was a vision of where she was - in the Soul Stone! I think he might've briefly visited the Soul Stone after Gamora was sacrificed. I thought this as directly after he sacrificed her we saw him wake up in water and when he had the vision of Gamora (after he snapped his fingers) he was standing in shallow water - linking the two. Another piece of conclusive evidence is the scarecrow. In the film when he is presumably in 'Titan 2' there is a scarecrow (this is seen more obviously in the trailer than the film), this is almost identical to the one he made at the start of the Infinity War series comics when he was - yes you've guessed it - in the Soul Stone. It also makes perfect sense that he would go there just to relax. The Soul Stone is described as a peaceful heavenly land and after all the stress he's been through finding the Infinity Gems and sacrificing everything, why wouldn't he want to chill in a farm-like placid environment and possibly find his daughter.

So, that's my theory!  I hope you enjoyed it and stayed interested, do you think this should be in the film? Do you think Gamora is also in the Soul Stone? And also, onto another theory, do you think Cassie freed Ant Man out the quantum realm as we see him in the trailer? I will be posting another blog around Christmas on an interesting Star Wars and Marvel crossover but for now, merry waiting for Captain Marvel and a happy new year!!

How Caps Shield could beat Thors Hammer!!

Infinity War contains a huge amount of superheroes fighting the evil powers of Thanos, and a lot of them demonstrate their extreme power: Scarlet Witch (who destroyed an infinity stone whilst holding Thanos off with her other hand), Thor (who has the power to destroy a fraction of the army in his land and almost kill Thanos) and Doctor Strange (who had, but misused, the power to reverse time). In this blog I will see how Thor's axe and Cap's shield could beat or be equal to each other!!

SPOILER WARNING!! IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN INFINITY WAR DON'T READ ON!! BUT ALSO, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN THIS YEAR, WATCH IT!!

Back onto Thor, his axe is made from the metal Uru combined with the enchantment of the dying star (Nidavellir), this is the same way his hammer was made. In Avengers Assemble (if you don't remember) Thor's hammer clashes onto Caps shield (made out of Vibranium) and they bounced an equal distance apart. This shows that Uru (with enchantment) has equal power as Caps shield (without enchantment). These leads me on to my theory. If Vibranium was hit with the enchantment  it would be stronger than the enchanted Uru. This is assuming that Vibranium can withstand the power as that may be a quality only Uru possesses.

If Vibranium had the enchantment of the star then it wouldn't only be possible to beat Thor's hammer but maybe it could also destroy Thanos's gauntlet. In case you didn't spot it, you clearly see a mould (or replica) of Thanos's gauntlet in Eitris workshop - this suggests that Uru is the same metal that made the gauntlet. So this also suggests that Vibranium plus Nidalevir could be the final destroyer of Thanos instead of Thor, Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange or Captain Marvel. However, their powers combined with the new super metal would be even more amazing.

So what do you think? This is an idea I haven't heard before and I don't think it will be used in the Avengers movie but I find it interesting. Thank you for reading and comment if you have any thoughts, but for now enjoy Marvel whilst it lasts!!

Also, did you know they are bringing the Fantastic Four into the MCU?!!!!!!!

Why Thanos Took So Long To Attack

If you have not seen Infinity War then first, how have you not seen it? Are you a caveman? It is now also available to buy on DVD so there really is no excuse. I pre-ordered it and it arrived yesterday (the 3rd) and I've seen it twice already. This blog is an elaboration and extension of an article I read which theorises why Thanos waited the length of 18 films to attack (see article here). Here's where I'd normally do a spoiler warning for the following content but seriously if you haven't seen the film you need to sort out your priorities .....

The article basically said that the main threats to Thanos are Odin, Ego the Living Planet and The Ancient One and that Thanos had to wait until all three were no longer in the way.

His first real threat to retrieving the Time Stone was The Ancient One. She died in Dr Strange. Her age was not revealed but we can only assume, as is the case for Odin and Ego the, that she was alive long before Thanos was born. This means that Thanos had the chance to know his enemies his whole life, hence knowing how hard they would be to defeat. The Ancient One drew power from the dark dimension. Although Thanos probably couldn't have been able to observe a different dimension like I believe Thanos does with Earth (which will be explained throughout this blog), his hatred toward The Ancient One may not have only been because she had the Time Stone (The Eye of Agamotto) but because he somehow knew she was using the dark dimension. Thanos could have considered this a huge threat if used against him. By not trying to retrieve the Time stone from her, Kaecilius killed her leaving the Time Stone more vulnerable in the hands of Dr Strange.

The second threat was Ego the Living Planet. He died in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2. Ego was not an allie of  Thanos. As we are informed in Guardians 2, Ego was a celestial who was in the universe before it was possible to remember. Ego searched for the perfect mate to have a celestial child with so together they could take over the universe. Peter Quill, child of Meredith Quill and leader of the Guardians happened to be that baby. Ego searched the universe for Peter and mysteriously found him escaping from the Sovereign fleet. Was that luck, or a little interference from Thanos to set up the meeting? Now you may be thinking, if Thanos talked  to Ego he might as well've tried to kill him. First he would've taken that risk, if him interfering is true than he would've done it in a non face to face way, maybe he used the Black Order to do his bidding. But why would he want Ego to find the Guardians? There are two explanations to that. One is that he foresaw that Quill, with him being a half celestial, would see what evil thing Ego was planning to do and he would face him and defeat him, but the reason I believe was so that the Guardians would be led to the other side of the galaxy leaving Xandar and the Power Stone unguarded. Arranging their meeting was still a risky strategy as if Ego's plan had worked it would have stopped Thanos in his tracks. Maybe it was just luck for Thanos that Ego was defeated  but either way it meant one more threat was out of the way making his barbaric attack on the universe more likely but there was still one big threat that stood in his way.... Odin.

Odin died in Thor Ragnarok. In the run-up to his death he was under Loki's spell and Loki had previously worked with Thanos. In Avengers he sent Loki to invade New York with the Chitauri. He was only mentioned in this film. The Avengers didn't get to see him face-to-face. Loki failed, but after that Thanos could've easily killed him or invaded NY himself. I believe the reason he didn't kill him was because he noticed his mischievous manor and most of all, his connection and ability to get close to Odin. I believe he predicted that Loki would do something barbaric for the throne that would cost Odin his life.  With Thanos keeping Loki alive he was able to take Odin off his kill list which left the Space Stone (tesseract) easier to steal.

This still doesn't completely answer why he waited so long. Other than waiting for his biggest  enemies to be eliminated another factor was the element of surprise. I briefly mentioned this earlier, but all the stones get put into a more vulnerable state due to other villains during the 10 years of the MCU.  As mentioned already the Space Stone was no longer guarded by Odin, similarly the Time Stone by the Ancient One, the Power Stone was no longer guarded by the Guardians but also the Reality Stone went from the Aether to the untrustable collector in the Dark World. The Mind Stone arguably became less vulnerable because it went from the to being embedded in Vision's head. With the five of the Time Stones within reach all Thanos needed was the location of the last one - The Soul Stone. Once Thanos discovered that Gamora knew where it was, Thanos was in the perfect position to try to execute his attack. He knew Gamora better than anyone and if anyone was going to get the location from her it was going to be him. He had his window of opportunity and he had to take it. The Avengers were always going to be a threat but not interfering with them previously and not really making his presence known to them until Infinity War meant Thanos's entrance was unexpected, leaving the Avengers completely unprepared.

Thank you for reading my blog. It is not an original idea of mine but has been added onto by me. Hope you enjoyed it and was interested by it. If you have any comments then please leave them below. I hope to write more blogs on Infinity War now I have it on DVD. Anyway thanks again for reading and enjoy Marvel whilst it lasts!

Also why is there still not a Captain Marvel trailer????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why does 'The Invisible Woman' have two superpowers?

'The Fantastic Four' are one of the all time favourite superhero families - consisting of 'Reed Richards' (Mr. Fantastic), 'Ben Grimm' (The Thing), 'Johnny Storm' (The Human Torch) and with more than one power 'Susan Storm' (Invisible Woman). This has interested me as I was comparing The Incredibles' powers to those of the Fantastic Fours and re-noticed that 'Susan' Storm and 'Violet' had two powers. I have been thinking and researching from comic to movie and narrowed the reason behind Susan's dual power down to three possibilities. I also thought this'd be a good time to write a blog because it's been a while since my last one which was my Infinity War review. So enjoy!!

NUMBER ONE

SHE WAS CLOSE TO THE WINDOW

WHEN THE BLAST OCCURRED.

This first possibility sounds like a simple obvious one but when you think of the physics of the cosmic ray it makes sense. Ben Grim (The Thing) can't turn his powers on and off unlike the others can because he was closest the blast when it occurred; he only just got in but the door but it clearly broke through and gave him about 90% of the blast and the others about 70%. This was because Ben had the most ventilation to the ray and theoretically the same as Sue. In the film you see her look out the window to see Ben floating back on-board and Susan looking out the window at him hence higher exposure to the storm than the others. This could've duplicated or strengthened the abilities resulted by the ray - or both. There is no question that Susan's force field is unbelievably powerful as shown in many comic scenes and her invisibility is at the best it can be as she becomes completely transparent.

NUMBER TWO

THE FACT THAT SHE'S A GIRL

This was one of the first possibilities that I thought of considering that this is the only thing that differentiated her from the others, but that is not the conclusion. This has to do with female biology. When I first thought of this when I was re-watching the first FF movie, I noticed the scene when Reed tries to channel her invisibility; she thought of a memory that angered her then her powers where accessed. This may have to do with a female hormone that was heightened from the storm; or, the storm reacted differently to that hormone as it was more sensitive than the men's, hence duplicating the result.

NUMBER THREE

SHE ONLY ACTUALLY HAS ONE POWER

Despite the fact that completely eliminates the point of this blogs title 'Why does 'The Invisible Woman' have two superpowers' it is my favoured possibility and I don't think this is a theory that has ever been considered before. One point is the artwork in the FF original comic books - 'The Invisible Woman's' outline, when invisible, is a dotted line outlining her body - oddly the same outline is used to show her force field in the comics. This could be a sign that her two powers are the same but channelled in different ways. Although in the films and newer comic series you see her force field as a translucent blue; this also could be explained. To become invisible the best you can do is be completely transparent but the best you can do with force fields is unthinkably powerful. Therefore if this theory is true then she'd have to put a lot of invisibility energy to the force field as it needs more effort to harness it. Maybe with a lot of her concentration on the power it makes a slightly visible blue colour as a result; does that explain it? Her name can be another factor, she is called the invisible woman, which only implies she has the power of invisibility suggesting that her force fields are a more powerful use of invisibility.

So, that's it. Three ideas each as possible as the other. They depend on research and hard thinking. As I am a fan of FF movies and a former collector of the comics I've been thinking about this matter for a while now. Please read this blog and spread it with fans of Marvel and, for other and future blogs, fans of Star Wars. Also a shout out to my good friend Kevin and his podcast (Reel FEEdBack) listen to his podcasts on the podcast app and hear him talk to people from movie editors to monster make-up people - its really interesting so check it out now. Comment if you have another idea but for now enjoy the MCU whilst it lasts!

Also where the hell is a Captain Marvel trailer???!!!!!

Infinity War review

I know this is a little past due since, if you haven't already seen this film then you must've been frozen in ice for 70 years. It is the No.1 subject everywhere so if you have avoided spoilers up to this stage then you are worthy of Asguards throne. For a spoiler-free paragraph I'm just going to say that I loved it and I don't know as single person who didn't. It has humour, action, suspense, romance, bits that'll make you cheer, bits that'll make you cry and best of all  - a bunch of one-liners that you'll hear mentioned in most conversations with your mates - especially those from Drax. So before I go into further detail I'm going to say, I very much advise you watch it if you haven't already and...

SPOILER WARNING!! IF YOU HAVE, VERY UNLIKELY, NOT SEEN THIS FILM! WATCH IT AND THEN READ THIS BLOG!!

This film blew my brain out of the cinema door into the next cinema screening, bumping into the other audiences blown-brains.There are bits that left you on edge like the Thor and Thanos scene when he stabs Thanos with an axe but then letting Thanos snap his fingers. So yeah, straight in there, Thanos snaps his fingers and destroys half the universe, along with random heroes: Star-Lord, Doctor Strange, Mantis, Drax, Bucky, Black Panther, Groot and saddest of all Spider-man. Which is strange as you may know Spidey has another couple of sequels upcoming and also most of the survivors (Thor, Iron Man, Cap and Hullk's) contracts expire after infinity war. There are many theories on where the people, who dissolved into dust and leaf thingy's, went - I am unsure what to believe but automatically  I thought they went to a parallel universe (like the upside down). Although I had a recent theory that the reality stone made the survivor see them dissolve when actually the survivors went into into a parallel universe and were destroyed but, again with the reality stone, they see life normally. Be expecting a theory from that soon.

Recently films with lots of heroes have felt rushed and out of place *cough* Justice League and *cough* Suicide Squad. This movie didn't cram the heroes in but introduced them in separate ways to not make it feel like they where irrelevant. Although, Clint and Scott weren't in it because of 'house arrest'. The film began with the tragic death of Loki and Heimdall (destrying my theory instantly that he had the soul gem) and Loki says my favourite line in the whole movie 'we have a hulk' (even though Hulks gets his ass kicked and sent to Earth in the next scene). Thanos gets the Teseract and already had  the orb - Thor briefly mentioned that Thanos destroyed Xandar a week ago. This was the one thing I didn't like, how in Guardians they were all about protecting Xandar and the galaxy (but mostly Xandar) and it only got a brief mention that it had been destroyed. The way the Guardians were introduced was the best; it was exactly how they'd do it in a Guardians film. They had their ship flying with the soundtrack of 'The Rubber Band Man' as Quill danced, Drax slept, Gamora sang, and Rocket yawned. They then saw Thor crash into their windshield and the chemistry of Thor and the Guardians was unreal. Star Lord was intimidated and tried to 'out-man' Thor with a fake British accent and the fact he had both eyes. Which reminds me, any errors on posters you may have seen as Thor has both eyes, are not errors as Rocket gave him a eye. Anyway, Rocket and Thor went off to get an axe for Thor with a giant dwarf guy, as Star Lord and the others went to Nowhere in an attempt to retrieve the reality stone. They were too late and Thanos took Gamora. Back on Earth, confused but epic Spiderman, fought alongside, Strange, Wong and Iron Man against Thanos's minions with confusing names. They board the ship and kill one of the minions 'alien' style and crash onto Titan. Quill, Drax and Mantis also go to Titan and think that Strange, Tony and Peter are Thanos's minion and threaten to kill them. Scratch what I said earlier this was the best line it went something a bit like this:

Quill: Where is Gamora?
Tony: I'll do you one better, who is Gamora?
Drax: I'll do you one better, WHY IS GAMORA?

This is the biggest meme at the moment. The fact that Drax felt like he had to be included and interrupted with something that didn't make sense is genius writing - but actually, this line was not in the script it was improvised by Dave Bautista - so now Dave is pretty much worshipped as a god for this one-liner. Anyway, on Earth we see that vision and Scarlet are hiding until they get hunted by others of Thanos's minions and then are saved by Cap, Falcon and Black Widow; this is another cheer out loud moment. They save Vision and Scarlet then they go to Wakanda with all the others 'heroes' on Earth.

So, on Earth we have
Cap
Bucky
Falcon
Black Widow
Scarlet Witch
Bruce Banner
Black Panther
Shuri
Nakia
Vision
War Machine

 And on Titan we have:
Quill
Drax
Mantis
Iron Man
Spidey
Doctor Strange

After a lot of pain to make Thor's axe he finally wields it and has Groots arm for a handle. In the epic battle of the weird Alien Army vs Wakanda, a cool girl fight scene with Black Widow, Nakia, Scarlet Witch and the girl minion - Thor Groot and Rocket join in. All as on Titan, Thanos arrives! The heroes on Titan host a cool battle with Thanos as Iron Man ends up almost dead but Doctor Strange exchanges Tony's life for the Time Stone. This shocked a lot of people as Doctor Strange literally said earlier on that he will not hesitate to let Thanos kill Spidey or Iron Man to protect the Time Stone. But he can see into alternate futures and I think that handing over the Time Stone and Thanos snapping his fingers is, in some unexplained way, the way to win. Back on earth,Vision with the mind stone, is taking too long to Vision - it was meant to be an emotional moment but I have to admit, I really didn't care as this is how Thanos has been stopped from acquiring the final stone. In a twist, Thanos actually uses his power properly and reverses time to get it out his head before Scarlet can destroy it. This bit was a really 'uh-oh' moment when you realise that he can do that. Thor then sends his axe into Thanos's chest and just gives him the 'games over' face and let's Thanos be in pain. But then, he looks up at Thor and says "you should have gone for the head" and snaps... his... fingers!!

And then we see him looking at little Gamora all a sudden and she's all "Did you do it?"
Then Thanos is like "Yeah".
Then she goes "What did it cost?"
And he says "Everything!"

We go back to reality and see Thanos's glove is all crinkled then he disappeared and the list of peeps who I said at the start die dramatically and silently. But then there's the tear jerking "I don't wanna die" bit from Peter half of the Avengers, along with half of the population of the universe dissolve into leaves or mud or whatever. In the end, Thanos sits down on what we think is Titan overlooking the sunrise of a peaceful planet.
In the end of credit scene (surprisingly only one) we see Nick Fury and Maria Hill also dissolve but not before Fury sends a message on an old pager. The message just shows the Captain Marvel logo so we can safely assume it was to her. So that means...

Captain Marvels will play a big role in Part Two!!

So what did you think of the movie? I loved it personally and I don't know anyone who didn't like it! But maybe you didn't so let me know why. The only things I didn't like was Xandar's of screen death, the fact that Drax was not as big a part in the film (as he is in the comics) and I was surprised that Adam Warlock was not in part one and apparently not part two either. It didn't feel it was overloaded with superheroes and all of them had some sort of  chemistry with each other and I loved that. I can't wait for Ant Man and the Wasp, I think it might explain why wasn't in it, he may have gone subatomic and can't get out of the Quantum Realm or are just really tiny - who knows! Anyway, go see the movie if you just ignored the spoiler warning and enjoy! Enjoy all I can say now is thanks for reading this blog!
